“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
NIV Psalm 34:18
There are many people that walk around as if they are happy but deep down inside they are not happy. As a matter of fact, they may even be brokenhearted. They have been crushed by something that has happened in their lives or by something that someone did to them.
God didn’t create use to keep a broken heart. Proverbs 17:22 tells us that if we have a broken heart it will lead to drying up our bones. In other words, we will physically and spiritually die if we keep a broken heart.
God has made a way to deal with a broken heart. Luke 4:18 says, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” Jesus came to heal the broken hearted. His power can flow through us to receive healing.
There are some things that we have to do to receive the healing of our broken heart.
1 – Understand and believe that God is near (Psalm 34:18)
2 – Understand and believe that God will heal (Psalm 147:3)
3 – Refuse to meditate on the past (Philippians 3:13)
4 – Focus on the future (Philippians 3:13)
5 – Press toward the goal. Which means that we have to fight from look back. (Philippians 3:14)
Jesus has given us the power to be able to do this. All we have to do is step out in faith. I want to encourage you to get connected to fellow believers in Jesus Christ. The process of healing may not be easy and that is why we need encouragement through Christian fellowship. Get connected with those who can help you receive the process of healing.
