Reaching The Family

When we give our lives to Christ we have a desire to bring others to him. It is exciting to see someone come to the Lord. That is what we are called to do. We are called to make disciples. We have to guard against discouragement, especially when we try to win our immediate family to the Lord. Whether it be the husband, wife, brother, sister, … it will be a challenge.

We can’t let the thoughts of negativity that say, “if you can’t win your family how do you expect to win other souls.” Satan will try to implant thoughts like this in our minds to get us discouraged and keep us from reaching souls for the kingdom.

Even Jesus had a hard time in his own town and his own family. The following are a couple of biblical guidelines to win your immediate family.

How to reach your immediate family:

1 – Pray for their eyes and ears to be open to the truth.

KJV 2 Corinthians 4:4

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

2 – Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into the harvest.

KJV Matthew 9:37-38

37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

3 – Be a laborer and answer for somebody else’s prayer.

When we come across a person that needs to be ministered to we need to take up the opportunity.

4 – Live the life before people.

Our words speak and our actions shout.
