NKJV Proverbs 12:21
21 No grave trouble will overtake the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil.

Everywhere we go it seems like we face trouble. Sometimes it seems like trouble is looking for us. The truth of the matter is that since Adam and Eve, the devil is trying to bring trouble into our lives in order to turn us from God. The devil knows he is already defeated so the only way he knows to hurt God is through those that He loves the most. The devil tries all that he can to influence us to turn from God. All he can do is influence us and if we open the door to him then we give him authority to do things in our lives.

The devil has no power because Jesus took away the authority that he had.

NLT Colossians 2:13-15
13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

The only authority the devil has is the authority that we give him by yielding to the desires of the flesh. Many times troubles come when we are not yielding to God but yielding to the flesh. It doesn’t matter how grave the troubles get because we can always come to God and He will accept us. If we are righteous no grave trouble will overtake us. In other words if we are in right standing with God then nothing can overtake us.

Many times troubles come just because. We face troubles in this world and things that are not fair in this world because sin is in the world. Sin in the world affects us all. When you sit in a restaurant that has designated seated areas for smoking and non-smoking you want to sit in the non-smoking section because you do not want to deal with the smoke. Well you know what happens, unless there separate rooms you are still going to smell the smoke. Someone walking by who has been smoking or just the smell from the smoking section still comes to the non-smoking section. The smoke still affects us.

Sin is in the world so troubles are going to come in our lives. We have an assurance though that no trouble will be able to overtake us if are right before God. We are never too far from God to where we can never come back to him.

Add Proverbs 12:21 to your scriptures that help you when troubles come in your life. We have to keep on believing the word of God no matter what.

NLT 1 John 5:4
4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
