Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. (2 Corinthians 5:16 NKJV)
It can be frustrating when we are praying and we don't see results in our lives. We continue to look at our circumstances and the things around us. We focus on the things of the flesh instead of the things of God.
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. (Colossians 3:1, 2 NKJV)
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:6 NKJV)
When we focus on the things of the flesh we let that dominate our minds. We become discouraged and put God to the side. The power of our circumstances seems greater than the power of God. We need to see ourselves and our circumstances according to the Spirit and the Word of God.
1 – We need to know who we are in Christ?
- We are a new creation.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV)
- We are blessed.
“Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. (Deuteronomy 28:6 NKJV)
We need to begin to see ourselves the way God sees us according to the Spirit and the Word of God. Satan would like for us to never figure out who we are in Christ. We are children of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. We need to start to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to us who we are in Christ.
