Acceptable

KJV Psalm 19:14 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

We are living in a time where we need more people that will rise up as examples for Jesus, people who can be a light unto the world. The only way that we can be a light is if we stand out. The way that we will stand out is if we yield our lives to Jesus.

We are to yield our lives to Jesus so much that we begin to talk in a new way so that the words of our mouth are acceptable before God. The bible tells us that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). When we speak we need to understand that what comes out is what is already in our hearts. If we want to change the way we speak then we have to change what we feed our hearts. We feed our heart through what we see, read, and listen to.

We are to yield our lives to Jesus so much that we begin to meditate on things that are acceptable before God. We are to set our minds on things above (Colossians 3:2). In other words, we are to meditate on Godly things. If we do then our meditation will be acceptable before God.

In Joshua 1:8 tells us that if we keep speaking God’s word and meditate in God’s word day and night then we will have good success. When we have good success those around us will begin to see Jesus manifesting in our lives. We truly will be the light unto the world.

What are the words that come out of your mouth? Is your speech acceptable to God? What is it that you meditate on? Are you meditating in your problems and worries all the time? Are you meditating on other things other than God’s word?

If your speech is not acceptable to God then now is the time to start to fill your heart with the word of God and continue to fill your heart with the word of God. If your meditation is not acceptable to God then now is the time to begin to keep your mind on things above—the word of God. More true examples are needed in this world to be a light unto this world.
