Peace

Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble. – Psalm 119:165

There is something about the Word of God that brings encouragement and confidence. We start to understand how great God is and how He wants to protect us. We can have peace in His promises for us. It doesn’t matter what comes against us. Nothing will cause us to stumble because we understand that God is greater than anything that we could face.

I pray that whoever reads this would be encouraged to continue to get into the Word of God and allow His peace to enter in.

Power In Him

“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” – I Samuel‬ ‭17:45‬ ‭NKJV

David had a confidence in the Lord because God had given him the strength before to rescue his sheep from the lion and the bear. Goliath was probably the biggest adversary he had ever faced, but that didn’t matter to David. His focus was on the power of God and knowing that God’s power is greater than any other power. David had a passion for God and would not let Goliath talk down on God trying to diminish His glory.

We face giants in our lives but it will be our connection with God that will allow us to see in the right perspective. Many times we can put our focus so much on the giant that our perspective of God changes. We begin to see the giant as bigger than God. If our connection with God is strong then we will be like David and when that giant comes against us we can come against that giant in His power. It’s through the power of God that our giant will be defeated.

Nothing Compares To What Is Ahead

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” – Romans‬ ‭8:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It doesn’t matter what we go through because nothing that we suffer through in the present will compare to what God will do. This is easier said than done because when we are in the midst of suffering sometimes we don’t think it is going to end. We have to hang on to God’s promise that the glory that will be revealed in us is greater than what we are going through right now. Stand firm on His Word and let His Word strengthen you in everything.

What He Says About Us Is What Matters

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” – Isaiah 55:11 NKJV

We are so easy to believe what society says we should be. We will start to believe if we look a certain way then we are not accepted. We will start to think if we don’t have certain things then we are not accepted. What society says about us will change and not last.

On the other hand, what God says about us is what will stand. His words will come to pass. His word is everlasting. It is time for us to find out what God says about us and start believing it. Prayerfully study God’s word and seek Him to see what He says about you.

Cast Our Cares On Him

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)

We have someone we can turn to when worry wants to take over. God wants us to cast all our worries and cares over to Him. Many times we think of God just as a judge who is ready to let us know everything we do wrong. God is compassionate and wants to take care of us. He cares for us.

We Are Blessed

“He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.” – Psalms‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It is amazing to realize how blessed we really are. If we woke up today, that is a blessing. Some times we think too much on the negative and forget the blessings we have. Those blessings will continue to be a part of our lives as we stay connected to Him.

The first part of Psalm 1 talks about if we walk in his ways and meditate in His word day and night we will receive the blessings of verse 3. We are so blessed. We may look at our circumstances and feel like we are not blessed but our feelings shouldn’t drive us. If we stay connected to God He will continually strengthen us and we will be prosperous no matter what we face. We need to be driven by His promises over our lives instead of our emotions. We are BLESSED!

Be Empowered

“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.” Ephesians‬ 3:16-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is only when we allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives that He begins to empower us with inner strength. We have to surrender everything to Him and give Him full reign in our lives. We build our trust in Him and our roots begin to grow deep in Him.

The deeper and bigger the roots of a tree, the stronger the tree will be against the winds and everything else that comes against it. When we develop our roots deeper and they get bigger in Him then God’s power in us will be stronger than anything that comes against us.

Truly See What He Has For Us

”16 “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” 17 Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.”

2 Kings 6:16–17 (NLT)

Many times we look at what is in front of us with our natural eyes and our emotions. It is time that we begin to see things as God wants us to see them. Many times we miss out on the blessings that God has for us because we do not look at things the way He wants us to look at things. If we truly see things the way He wants us to see them, then we would know that God is greater than anything we face.

Find Rest

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew‬ ‭11:28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Many times we rely on our own strategies to bring rest in our lives. We may try all kinds of different methods to help our bodies wind down. True rest comes when we come to Jesus. Spend time with Him and He will give us true rest. He will strengthen our spirits and lift our burdens.
